Anand Niketan Group of Schools

I ventured into education 25 years ago when I set up the first branch of Anand Niketan on the outskirts of Ahmedabad city in a remote area near Shilaj. I started out with 20 students in a thatched hut, a bit unsure how I would take things forward having no background of running a school whatsoever with me coming from a business family. Well settled in my paper business, I began reading different authors during my free time. That is how I came across the writings of J. Krishnamurthy, Gijubhai Badheka, Mahatma Gandhi and Sri Aurobindo. Inspired by the ideology of these great men and their thoughts on the education system pursued in the country post Independence, a legacy left by the British, I was deeply motivated to establish a school which would provide a space for children to learn, play, grow and blossom. With the firm belief that every child is unique and we need to individually work on every child the first branch of Anand Niketan set rolling on July 1,1996 and I must say I feel a great sense of pride today with 11 branches under the umbrella of Anand Niketan Group of schools, all unique in their own way, striving to carry forward a common philosophy to the best of their abilities.
I wish a very fruitful year ahead to all my students, teachers and parents. Happy learning & Bonding!

Director's Desk

I welcome you to the new academic year with great expectations from you all, the youth and future of this country. The school you attend is a temple of learning, a place of worship. Treating it as such can guarantee you wonderful results. Results beyond the scope of your imagination. Your parents and your school have joined hands and dedicated their lives to nurture you all and we treat you as tiny saplings doing our best to provide an environment which nourishes you with good health, well being, knowledge, learning, social mores and etiquette, doing all that is in our realm to ensure your slow and steady progress. We pursue a common goal and are on the same plateau through this journey and together we have certain expectations from you all. We both want you to grow into a healthy, happy, literate thinking being who is socially responsible. A thinker who constantly thinks about actions, consequences, problems, solutions. A thinker who thinks about his/her own self, about others, about society, about his/her own country, about other countries, about the world, about the environment, about justice. Justice for yourself and others. Justice for everyone and everything around you. About social structures, their significance and the hurdles that they create. About mind sets. About it being the essence of your existence. About the will which will help you conquer each hurdle that you come across. About how belief in yourself can bring about change. How belief in our systems can bring about justice. Wish you all the best for the year ahead and hope you have a fruitful academic year.
